Texas bishops address border tragedies

In response to recent reports of inhumane actions along the Texas-Mexico border, the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops have issued a statement asking all “people of goodwill to join us in this work, and to join us in praying for our brothers and sisters experiencing the harsh realities of this journey, and for all who encounter them.”

Cardinal Farrell presented ‘Spirit of Francis Award’ in Dallas

Cardinal Kevin J. Farrell visited Dallas on May 17, 2023, to attend a benefit dinner where he was presented with the “Spirit of Francis Award” from Catholic Extension, given to those whose commitment of service or philanthropy to the poor are reminiscent of the award’s three namesakes: St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis, and Francis Clement Kelley, the founder of Catholic Extension.

Diocesan Mass to highlight Eucharist on Pentecost

In observance of the National Eucharistic Revival, Bishop Edward J. Burns invites the faithful in the Diocese of Dallas to encounter the reality of Christ truly present in the Eucharist during the celebration of a Mass on Pentecost Sunday. Bishop Burns will celebrate the Eucharist at the special Mass on May 28 at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
