Voices of Faith: Sharing God’s message throughout north Texas

Bishops worldwide celebrated the opening of the 2025 Holy Year Dec. 29 with Masses in their cathedrals and co-cathedrals to mark the jubilee, which is themed “Pilgrims of Hope.”

When Catholics come to Rome for the Holy Year, their journey should have the specific goal of encountering and listening to Jesus, Pope Francis said.

The faithful of the Diocese of Dallas gathered Dec. 29, 2024, at the National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe for the opening Mass of the Jubilee Year of Hope. Bishop Edward J. Burns presided over the celebration on the feast of the Holy Family, delivering a homily filled with reflections on faith, renewal, and the enduring message of hope.
