Seminarian awaits return to seminary in Ukraine

Francisco Moran said it was God’s will that motivated him as a 23-year-old working as an elementary school teacher’s aide in Navarro County to stand before thousands of people in Rio de Janeiro and publicly commit to pursuing a vocation in the priesthood. Seven years into his assignment to the Redemptoris Mater seminary in war-torn Ukraine, Moran sat in a dining hall at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and similarly said, “If it’s His will for me to go back, then with His will I’ll go back.”

A legacy of faith and service

Cheryl Mansour fought back tears as she introduced Lydia and Dan Novakov as the recipients of the 39th Annual Catholic Foundation Award Feb. 19 at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. For Mansour, the moment was surreal as she introduced a lifelong friend and noted how history sometimes has a way of repeating itself.

Catechetical Sessions and Listening Sessions: What’s the Difference?

On Feb. 15, the final catechetical session concluded. This represented the end of one phase of the diocesan synodal process and the beginning of another. On March 26, the first public listening session will take place. Because these terms might be unclear, I thought it would be helpful to distinguish between the two and provide more information about these upcoming listening sessions.
