For years now, Marian Davis has been the face of Holy Trinity Catholic School. That face changes next fall. Davis, who has served as principal of the school since 2017, announced this spring she would be retiring in June.

Ursuline Academy’s Eniola Egedigwe has plenty of drive, literally and figuratively. The 18-year-old senior was typically out the door on school days at 6 a.m. to make the trek to Walnut Hill Drive from her family’s home in Forney in Kaufman County. “It’s usually an hour’s drive,” Egedigwe said. “Without traffic, maybe 30, 40 minutes.”
Mary Beth Marchiony’s five-year tenure at Bishop Dunne Catholic School will end in June with the veteran educator’s retirement. It began with a lengthy to-do list and will conclude in much the same frenetic manner.

Cardinal Kevin J. Farrell visited Dallas on May 17, 2023, to attend a benefit dinner where he was presented with the “Spirit of Francis Award” from Catholic Extension, given to those whose commitment of service or philanthropy to the poor are reminiscent of the award’s three namesakes: St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis, and Francis Clement Kelley, the founder of Catholic Extension.
On April 28, a Mass of Appreciation, presided over by Bishop Edward Burns, brought together 80 formation ministers from 40 parishes across the diocese. The areas of formation included catechetical leaders, sponsor couples, youth ministers, and initiation ministers. The event was organized by the Office of Evangelization, Catechesis and Family Life; the Office of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry; and the Office of Worship.
The Catholic Diocese of Dallas May 16 announced Dr. Rebecca Hammel as the new leader of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Dallas. Dr. Hammel was selected after a nationwide search to fill the superintendent’s post.
