The Lafayette Musicians-1

Sharing the song of creation

“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.”  These famous words open 18th century composer Joseph Haydn’s “The Creation,” a musical depiction of the Genesis tale considered one of the composer’s masterpieces.  The piece—which calls into mind the wonder of existence, the joy of creation, the glory of God, all through instrumentation and singing—will be performed by the Lafayette Musicians, accompanied by Cistercian Preparatory School students, on April 14 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas.

CRS AID GAZA

CRS workers remain in Gaza after colleagues killed in strike

Catholic aid workers in Gaza are determined to continue their mission after a deadly strike killed colleagues from a fellow organization. Seven staff members of World Central Kitchen died April 1 when their three-vehicle convoy was hit in an Israeli air attack. The group — comprised of Australian, British, Polish and Palestinian nationals, as well as a dual U.S.-Canadian citizen — had just dropped off more than 100 tons of food stocks to a warehouse in central Gaza.
