At Prince of Peace Catholic School, the value of family has long been at the heart of its mission. Keeping with that tradition, the school this year launched the Silver Stars program, an initiative designed to create meaningful opportunities for grandparents to engage with the school community.

Blue and white balloons were flying, and students, faculty and families were loudly cheering on Tuesday, Sept. 19, as the U.S. Department of Education announced that Prince of Peace Catholic School has officially been named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School. With this year’s recognition, Prince of Peace is now a three-time National Blue Ribbon School (2006, 2016, 2023).

It all started with a chalice. A few years ago, Father Stephen Ingram, parochial vicar at Prince of Peace Catholic Community in Plano, found a forgotten chalice among his things, which he realized had not yet been blessed.
When Chad Evans began work as the third president of John Paul II High School on the Monday after New Year’s Day, no one had to show him where his office was. Evans returned to the campus where he’d served as the Cardinals’ boys basketball coach from 2008 through 2012.
