From the 2015 World Games in Los Angeles, California, to the 2022 USA Games in Orlando, Florida, Notre Dame Schools of Dallas STAR Young Adult Program participant Kelley Tyler has traveled across the country with pompoms in tow to cheerlead at Special Olympic events. As she took her pep from place to place, her younger brother, Austin Tyler, was there too, cheering for his sister as she cheered on the competitors.

Miracle Melodies is a group of Cistercian seniors that leads praise and worship each Monday for students at the Notre Dame School of Dallas, a school serving students with developmental disabilities.
For more than six decades, the Notre Dame School of Dallas has been a beacon of education for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages six to 22. This month, the school marked a significant milestone with the relocation and expansion of a program that serves adults 22 and older.

The deafening, but joy-filled rhythmic chant of “Yes, Lord! Yes, Lord!” echoed through the sanctuary of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church as Notre Dame School of Dallas students sang and danced to praise-and-worship music Feb. 13. It’s a scene repeated most Mondays thanks to the efforts of the Miracle Melodies, a group of students from Cistercian Preparatory School who came together to use their musical talents as a ministry to help others.
