The Catholic Diocese of Dallas has announced Kara and Peter Gehan as the chairs for the 13th Annual Bishop’s Invitational Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, and will be moving to a new location, the Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco. The purpose of the bishop’s Invitational is to provide need-based tuition assistance and scholarships for K-8th grade students attending Catholic schools in the Dallas area.

A servant’s heart fueled one young man’s desire to help the less fortunate. And now, it’s earned Armando Parrish national recognition.
Parrish, a senior at Bishop Lynch High School, is being recognized this year as a recipient of the Youth Virtues, Valor and Vision Award by the National Catholic Educational Association. He is one of only 10 students in the country being recognized with the award in 2023.
For John Paul II High School student Jimmy Hademenos, a passion for music and a love of his Catholic faith have come together to inspire a ministry of service for several Catholic communities.

More than 140 parishioners from parishes throughout the Diocese of Dallas were honored for their volunteer efforts at the Annual Bishop’s Award for Service to the Church Mass on Jan. 21 at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
The faithful packed the pews of the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe before spilling into the streets of downtown Dallas for the annual North Texas March for Life on Jan. 14.
As the tolling of bells echoed throughout the downtown Dallas area, hundreds gathered inside the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe to honor the memory of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, 95, who passed away on New Year’s Eve and was buried in Rome on Jan. 5.
On the passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Bishop Edward J. Burns says, he will “forever be grateful for his paternal love and kindness and will always consider him one of the great thinkers and shepherds in the history of the Catholic Church.”
The Sunday televised Masses began as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but have evolved into a ministry aimed at helping reconnect the countless elderly, ailing and homebound Catholics in the Diocese of Dallas to their faith community.
This Christmas let us welcome the Lord, the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace, into our world and our lives. God loved us so much that He sent us His Son to give us His grace, redeem us by His love, and sustain us by His peace.
